Understanding and coping with anxiety
What is anxiety? These sessions will help you to understand anxiety better.
In session 1 we will explain where anxiety comes from, what purpose it serves and how it can affect us.
In session 2 we will look at the different ways we can experience anxiety and how we feel when we are in an anxious state.
In session 3 we will suggest ways to manage these feelings to help us cope with our anxiety better.
Self-compassion for parents: maintaining your wellbeing in the context of parenting
Do you find parenting stressful at times?
Would you like to learn more about how to look after your mental health whilst raising children? If so, you’re not alone!
Parenting can be hard for all of us. This course will show you how to be kinder to yourself when you feel guilty or stressed and will teach you some skills you can use in your day-to-day life as a busy parent.
You will also be able to share ideas with other parents about how to survive and thrive, even on the bad days.
Psychosis: ways of understanding the experience
The experience of ‘psychosis’ is more common than you may think. But what does ‘psychosis’ mean and how do you live with and perhaps beyond it? This introductory course aims to address this question by presenting balanced responses from different approaches.
Nurturing self-compassion
This course is for everyone who wants to develop a more caring relationship with themselves. It will identify the benefits of being more compassionate and caring to yourself, especially when life becomes challenging.
Mindful conversations around race
This course is an opportunity to engage in mindful conversation about the feelings and thoughts which arise when faced with talking about racism and inequality.
It is designed as a safe space, open to everyone regardless of race, culture or ethnicity.
As well as acknowledging and sharing feelings, we will explore how compassion for self and others, and mindfulness practices may be helpful in offering some support, clarity, and a path towards positive change.
Making the most of your money
We all want to get the most from our money but it can be difficult to be sure if we are getting a good deal or not. We may not understand the jargon, it can be difficult to compare prices or we may feel we simply don’t have the time.
Making the most of your memory
We will look at ways to make the most of your memory and try some of these out.You will have the opportunity to share what works for you and hear and discuss others’ ideas. The course will be interactive with activities and discussion aimed at empowering you to maximise your memory.
