Camden Free Adult learning courses – summer term starts soon

Did you know that there are free adult learning courses in community centres and libraries across the borough for people over 19?

Some classes are open to all, others are for particular groups such as older people, parents and carers, ESOL learners or people with learning disabilities. Tutors support people to move onto further learning, employment or volunteering opportunities. Here is a list of the available courses.

LGBT mental health

If you are lesbian, gay or bisexual, issues such as homophobia, isolation and discrimination can take their toll on mental health. You might experience rejection, negative reactions or hostility from family members, friends, strangers, employers or members of religious communities. This can have a big impact on your self-esteem and may mean that you might feel unable to be open about your sexual or gender identity.

'Committed to breaking the link between financial difficulty and mental health' - charity seeks 'Experts by experience'

The Money and Mental Health Policy Institute is an independent charity, committed to breaking the link between financial difficulty and mental health problems. People with personal experience either of living with a mental health problem, or of supporting someone who does, are at the heart of its work, and it now wants to hear from more 'Experts by experience'.

Brown Therapist Network - A south Asian network & therapy services

The Brown Therapist Network is a learning hub promoting knowledge of south Asian mental health.

We offer therapeutic services from a range of accredited professionals. Our team is all south Asian and we pride ourselves on having professionals from a range of disciplines in the therapeutic field. We recognise sometimes clients do wish to be matched on ethnicity or cultural background and we want to help bridge that gap.

Help sing your way to better mental health

Key Changes, the mental health charity that promotes better mental health through music, is organsing free, weekly singalongs at St Pancras Hospital. Open to all, come and join service users, NHS staff, volunteers and others from the local community. It’s fun, relaxed and friendly, and all levels are welcome - no previous experience is necessary. The choir sings folk, world, gospel, pop, reggae, classical and more! No audition required.
