Camden Nature Reserves Forum

This year’s Camden Nature Reserves Forum Norfolk Birdwatching Weekend will be 24th to 27th May.

This is the proposed timetable:

  •  Friday 24th we will travel to our accomodation in Cromer. Evening meal at Bolton’s Bistro – we eat here every year as the food is excellent. Followed by stroll into town to a CAMRA recommended pub.
  • Saturday 25th we will explore several of the first class bird reserves along the Norfolk coast. Pub lunch. Evening meal in Cromer – maybe fish and chips. Cromer is famous for its crab dishes. Evening social with live band for dancing in nearby village.
  • Sunday 26th we will travel inland to  explore some local Norfolk history and visit the Lakenheath Fen bird reserve in search of Britain’s only colony of beautiful breeding Golden orioles (see picture). Back to Cromer for an evening out in town.
  • Monday 27th return home. Also option of returning on the Sunday

Please get in contact ASAP if you are interested so that Green Gym can advise you on finding accomodation – we stay in several B&B/hotels close together in Cromer. There will be some lifts available, otherwise we can advise on public transport.
