Holistic approach to medication

Medication is one of the most common treatments for all health and mental health conditions.

Deciding to take medication to manage a health condition is a personal choice that involves unique experiences, feelings, thoughts and understanding. It can be challenging if someone is forced to take medication under the Mental Health Act, even when they feel they do not need it or wish to explore other options first.

In this course, we hope to remove some barriers to understanding more about our relationship with medication and the professionals who recommend it. We will consider the different kinds of mental health medication and how we can get the information we need to make our own choices. We will think about living with possible side effects and ways of using medication to help us lead the lives we want.
