Recovery College in partnership with Castlehaven Community Association
Gardening is a source of relaxation, comfort and enjoyment for many people. It can give us a valuable sense of continuity, and the realisation that no matter what, life goes on. Even if things are not the way we would have planned them, we can still make things work.
This online course provides a safe space to take positive risks and to learn from your efforts. We will explore how growing plants at home can give us something to look forward to and how it can help to build resilience. By learning practical gardening tips and skills, we aim to help you to develop creativity, and reduce stress and anxiety during this period of social isolation.
Session one: Learn how to care for houseplants. If you have your own houseplants, you can show them to the group.
Session two: Learn how to grow your own vegetables & herbs. If you have vegetables or herbs at your home, you can show them to the group.
Please do not buy any houseplants or vegetables just for this course.
We will only use the resources that you already have at home.
This course is also available as pre-recorded videos.
