The Doctors' Orchestra fundraiser for Freedom From Torture

Join us for a very special tenth anniversary gala concert by The Doctors' Orchestra at London's prestigious Cadogan Hall.

Brahms - Tragic Overture
Strauss - Death and Transfiguration
Brahms - Academic Festival Overture
Strauss - Horn Concerto No.1
Strauss - Waltzes from Der Rosenkavalier

Conductor Stephen Brearley will once again bring together a unique ensemble of 75 musically gifted doctors to play in aid of Freedom from Torture. This year, the Orchestra is joined by virtuoso soloist Alexander Edmundson (co-principal, the London Symphony Orchestra) for Strauss's first horn concerto. Edmundson performs internationally as Guest Principal with many leading orchestras including the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, and at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. He works frequently on film music sessions, including playing Principal on the 2018 Oscar winning film, The Shape of Water (Best Picture and Best Original Soundtrack).

The funds raised from this concert will allow Freedom from Torture to provide psychological support and group counselling in areas such as music and art, as well as offering vital legal and welfare aid. By attending this concert, you will be making a real difference to the lives of torture survivors, whilst enjoying a breathtaking evening of classical music.
