CANCELLED Camden Coming Together Against Hate

***This event has been cancelled***

Panel Discussion on Right Wing Extremism hosted by Camden Council

Please come and join us for a community panel discussion touching on issues relating to hate crime, racism, and violent and non-violent far-right extremism.

Let us talk about political and democratic solutions for grievances as the normal and seek to marginalise extremism which only divides and polarises communities and creates societal hostility. How can we respond to the online presence of the far-right movement which is saturated with hateful and racially offensive language and content?

The event will raise awareness of the threat posed by Far Right extremism on our communities and in our neighbourhoods. Find out what the Police and the Council are doing to make communities safer, and what support is available to victims of different types of hate crimes.

Speakers will include:
Councillor Abdul Hai - Cabinet Member for Young People and Cohesion
Gillian Marston - Executive Director for Supporting Communities
Metropolitan Police, Forum+ and Camden People First

This event is organised by Camden Council in partnership with the Police and local community organisations, as a reminder of Camden’s zero tolerance for hate following the recent spate of discriminatory graffiti, stickers and incidents in the borough.

Refreshments, sign language interpreters and palantypists will be provided

The building is accessible for wheel chairs
