The unhealthy mix between alcohol and mental health

With January being the seasonal time to cut back on alcohol, we explore its relationship with mental health.  How does drinking impact on an individual's mental health?  Is there a predisposition amongst some people with mental health issues to abuse alchohol, and can drinking too much lead to mental health problems?

In the next of the "Mental Health Matters" series organised by C&I, this complex issue will be examined with a clinical perspective on the current thinking on the inter-relationship between alcohol, depression and psychiatric conditions, and the experiences of a service user.

The event will be chaired by Trust Medical Director, Dr Vincent Kirchner who will be joined by Dr Quentin Huys, Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at C&I and Clinical Senior Lecturer at UCL Psychiatry.
