Course: Informed Choice & Talking About Psychiatric Meds

Presented by The London Hearing Voices Network, and led by trainer Rai Waddingham, this two-day workshop on July 11 and 18 is open to anyone who supports someone who is taking psychiatric medication. The workshop includes discussion around:

  • The different perceptions, experiences and relationships with psychiatric medication
  • Helpful and unhelpful effects of medication
  • Emerging evidence around the efficacy of medication and its long term impact on people’s recovery 
  • Navigating difficult conversations around medication - including issues of honesty, capacity, compulsion and managing others’ concerns
  • Identifying a range of alternatives to support people manage their mental health, whether they take medication or not.

There is an additional day (on 1 August) for those wanting to set up peer support groups. This will be hosted at Cardboard Citizens, 77A Greenfield Rd, E1 1EJ
